From what I’ve read, it’s not as easy as they made it sound. First you have to have the HomeBrew Channel. Then you have to not installed the update that blocks WAD files.

Dowgy is right.
It’s not worth the time and effort to force a system to do what it is either incapable or poor at doing. Wii is for playing games in a new and interactive way. NOT for replacing your PC, becoming a media powerhouse, or toasting pop tarts.

lol the only reason wii’s dont play dvd’s is that they don’t have the codec on there, if you install the homebrew channel from a softmod guide when you do the part that says “install DVDx optional”(or find the DVDx file install) or whatever thats in most guides it installs the codec onto the wii then for mplayer you just place the boot.dol file in SD:\apps\mplayer go to homebrew channel and select mplayer, it allows you to load discs off DVD, from a USB device or off an SD card which is great if your PC isn’t connected to your PC cus kids with grimey fingers cant take discs out when its on a USB hd and if you know what your doing or can use google to find a simple softmod guide you can do it in 5 mins its not that hard.
