Who says you can’t use the PSP to play the Wii. These kids show off their stuff.
Video after the jump.
“A great video of a kid making his PSP play Wii games using Sony’s Location Free player. Sure, it’s a cheap hack, but this kid is quite charming in his efforts. He’s got a 6 second delay on this, which is quite annoying, and but he’s humble. And he calls himself Obiwan22, for Christ’s sake. How much cuter can you get?”

The guy that made this mod must really love Zelda!
“A Wii Modder has decided to combine the greatness of Zelda with the benefits of a charity. I have to say that this is without a doubt the best mod I have ever seen.
If you remember waking up on Christmas morning to an NES, then spending the day picking at turkey and whatever cookies your dad didn’t eat while pretending to be St. Nick as you played through The Legend of Zelda, there’s a chance you may be interested in the Zelda Wii. Not just a simple paint job, this baby gets right to the essence of Nintendo’s grand franchise. The mere glimpse of the pictures puts me right back in my Transformers PJ’s trying to figure out that Lost Woods puzzle.”

Have fun with your iPod, play your Wii on it!
Video after the jump.
“Just playing some Wii… on my 60GB iPod. Basically in a nutshell I just rewired my dock with the lightbar from the Wii. Then running linux and a app that I installed on the iPod, enabled it for live video stream via the 30pin dock connector (ie. instead of video out I can have video in) Then with a few splicing of the composite video connectors and some electrical tape to convert it to the S-Video jack on the back of the dock. The audio was passed through to a reciever and not through the iPod.”

Use your old Nintendo controller on your Wii with this microcontroller mod.
“Nintendo’s idea of implementing support for NES and SNES games in their new console, the Wii, is in my opinion one of their greatest ideas. As soon as I learned that it would be possible to use Gamecube controllers to play those games, I started thinking about designing an Snes/Nes controller to Gamecube adapter which would be compatible with the Wii.
For various reasons (And the fact that I dont own a Wii or a Gamecube..), it took me a little more time than planned. But finally it works. Due to the complexity of the Gamecube’s controller protocol, it’s not possible to build a simple conversion circuit without using programmable components. For this project, I use an atmel Atmega8 microcontroller. Maybe it’s a little overkill, but using this chip allowed me to re-use the printed circuit board from my Nes/Snes controller to USB project. Given the small size of this circuit, it’s possible to fit it inside an original controller.”

Play the Wii using an old school retro controller.
Video after the jump.
“This site contains the details for my first ever mod, a wireless hack for SNES and NES controllers that is also compatible with the GameCube/Wii controller ports. One of the first things I did after getting my Wii was to hook it up to my wireless network so that I could start downloading retro games. This is the first time I’ve played these titles, I never had a SNES or a NES growing up and I never played them on the emulator either. As much as I like the new Classic Controller, I don’t like the idea of it being tethered to the Wiimote. I would also much rather play the games on the controller hardware that they were originally designed for.”

If you have some old remotes laying around you can build a Wii sensor bar with them.
More pictures after the jump.
“My brother borrowed my Wii and brought it back without the sensor bar PLUS when I take my Wii over to my Dad’s house. I needed couplers to stretch the Video Cables far enough to hook into his Projector yet still have the sensor bar on top of his Projection screen. These problems combined to make me curious about extending the Wii sensor bars cable.
The Wii Remote uses these Infrared LEDs to figure out its position. Well I built me one for free and I figured I would explain. ”
