Here is a neat way to make some cool music with your Wiimote!
“Nice experiment using my Nintendo Wiimote as a controller for the OSC frequency of my Moog Little Phatty… (Check out the OSC knob cursor moving on the LP)
It sound like a Theremin

If you are interested in reading the raw Nunchuck data for a project, the code provided here can help you do that using an Arduino microcontroller.
“With a little hacking, data can be read from a wii nunchuck directly into an Arduino, using TWI (aka I2C). The nunchuck contains a 3 axis accelerometer, joystick and buttons for only $19.95. The same accelerometer in kit form, cost $34.95 at Sparkfun. Plus the nunchuck is already wired up in a nice clean case! So the wii nunchuck should fit nicely into anyones robotic project.”

The Wiimote Swing by Erik Loyer is an interesting way to display text on your screen.
Video after the jump.
“Enter your text and hit the Home button on the remote. Then, hold the Wiimote sideways, with the D-pad on the left and facing upwards, and twist it back and forth like a steering wheel to advance through syllables. Roll the Wiimote towards you to make the text grow larger, and away from you to make it shrink. Up and Down on the D-pad (technically Left and Right, as you’re holding the Wiimote sideways) will step manually through syllables; the 2 button will cause the current text fragment to fade out.”

The Nintendo Gun provided a better point and shoot mechanism than the add on modules that are available for the Wiimote. This hack allows you to adapt one of the original Nintendo Guns to work with the Wiimote. Since the Wiimote uses an IR camera to look at the sensor bar that sensor needs to be removed and installed in the tip of the gun.

Wow, I have seen lots of talented dogs, but this is the first one I have seen who plays the Wii.

Why not make music with your wiimote!
“This video is about controlling a modular synth with Nintendo’s wiimote gamepad, using Doepfer A-100, Doepfer MCV24, Wiimote and computer. Softwares used are Bluesoleil, Glovepie and midiox. This video is not an artistic demonstration but a technical explanation of this system (that can be used for making music ofc).”

Here are the steps to use a horse to play a video game by using a wiimote to capture your actions.
Video after the jump.
“1. Buy, Beg, Borrow Steal a Spring Horse
2. Install Blue tooth adapter HW & SW Drivers
3. Sync WiiMote with PC
4. Affix WiiMote to Horse (I used painter’s tape to Horse’s hind quarters (See 00:27 in video)
5. Install GlovePie
6. Load joystick script in GlovePie (included in GlovePie)
7. Load Need for Speed (PC Game)
8. Configure the controls in NFS by moving the Horse when assigning keys for:
1. Accelerate
2. Brake
3. Left
4. Right
5. Change View (Optional)
9. Hook up to Large Display (Optional but preferable)
10. Move Furniture out of the way
11. Start Game
12. Lean forward, Elbows in, hands tightly gripping handle
13. Have Fun”

A quick hack and allows a Nintendo Nunchuck to control this RC Robot.
Video after the jump.
“I connected a Wii Nunchuck controller to an Arduino, which takes the data from the controller’s I2C data bus, decodes it, and send the data to the robot with a radio transmitter. Charlie uses a radio receiver to get the data, and it will control the drive servo system and the pan tilt servo system using the data. The Nunchuck has a 3 axis accelerometer, a joystick, and 2 buttons, it is absolutely awesome to use with a RC robot like this.”
