Wii bowling is one of my favorite Wii Sports games but getting a strike can be challenging. This robot can consistently bowl strikes one after another.
Video after the jump.
“You are looking at a Wii Remote mounted on a robotically controlled swing. A second motor is used to trigger the bowling, by first Pressing the A button and left arrow, and then holding down the B button, swinging, and finally releasing the B button.”

Not sure about the look, but it would definitely protect your investment.
“It’s basically a photo of something I intend on doing for my Wii Setup as soon as possible. Too many of my friends scare me with how close they get to my TV. I have decided to install a piece of Plexi Glass across the front of my TV. I would rather see a nice piece of plexiglass get damaged, then my setup.”

Remember the first video, watch the second one after the jump!
“I must admit at one point when we were outpacing most of the Superbowl spots [online] we had this fantasy that someone was going to call from Nintendo or some where and make us an offer but that never happened. Really we did this sequel because we had so much fun watching how so many people watched it and responded positively to it…[the sequel] furthers the story where we left off…we wanted to develop the characters that we established in the first spot.”

Have fun with your iPod, play your Wii on it!
Video after the jump.
“Just playing some Wii… on my 60GB iPod. Basically in a nutshell I just rewired my dock with the lightbar from the Wii. Then running linux and a app that I installed on the iPod, enabled it for live video stream via the 30pin dock connector (ie. instead of video out I can have video in) Then with a few splicing of the composite video connectors and some electrical tape to convert it to the S-Video jack on the back of the dock. The audio was passed through to a reciever and not through the iPod.”

Looks like anything can be made from chocolate!
“It’s a bit late for Valentine’s Day, but this was just too cool to pass up. Plus, if you’re adventurous, it could be a nice wholesome President’s Day long weekend activity. Flickr user “Bakalov” has made chocolates using the packaging from the Wiimote and nunchuck. Just remember, it’s the packaging. This epicurean Nintendo fan was not actually filling his Wiimote with chocolate. Got it? Good.”

Not an official Nintendo video, but it is the best one we have seen.
Video after the jump.
“Here is an extremely well-done Wii video, that you might take for an official Nintendo commercial until the, say, last 3 seconds. I caught up with the creator from Super 78″

I can see this cool robot creating the first Wiimote related death… But in all seriousness what a great job interfacing the controller to an industrial arm!
Video after the jump.
“Brian and I were talking in his office a couple weeks ago about the Kuka robots’ fast reactions to serial data, and I realized, hey, why not hook it to a WiiMote? We had both fallen for Nintendo’s plucky little controller like everyone else, and had seen plenty of other WiiMote hacks. It had been a number of weeks of work without any rest, so we decided to set aside the coming Saturday to hook up one of the robots to a WiiMote.
The idea was to take one industrial robot, add a laptop talking to a WiiMote, strap on a tennis racket, have it follow the swings that the user makes, and do it all in a few hours on a Saturday so we could get back to our busy schedules. Of course we had to put on a sword too, and if there was time, maybe an Airsoft gun. Also, we wanted it to fight people, but you can’t have everything.
I dragged myself out of bed at noon-thirty and called Brian to see if he still wanted to try the Wii hack. We met at the office (where we spend most of our Saturdays) and I set to work on the WiiMote-to-robot software. He began the epic process of attaching a tennis racket to the KR16 and programming the physical motions into it.
A KR16 is a small industrial robot by Kuka. There were a couple in the shop waiting to be installed for various industrial projects. The one we were using had a polishing wheel on it.”
This must be watched to ensure the safe operation of the Wii is maintained at all times. ![]()

“Wii wants to make sure you handle your Wii-mote properly.”

Cool setup, but it doesn’t look like fun…
